Omaha O365/SharePoint Saturday is organized by our non-profit parent, Alphabits Incorporated. Alphabits Incorporated’s mission is to provide free or low-cost training to the community. We do this through the monthly meetings of the SharePoint User Group, our annual Omaha 365/SharePoint Saturday and other events like full-day workshops. We are always looking to create more training opportunities for our community.
Every year that we hold our O365/SharePoint Saturday conference, we have a number of sponsors that allow us to pay for the expenses of the conference. Any money we have left over is used to provide lunch for our monthly user group meetings of the O365/SharePoint User Group and help cover the expenses of our other training sessions. Through our diligence in managing those funds, we are constantly looking for more ways to help our local technical community. In 2018 we were thrilled to announce The SharePoint Saturday-Omaha Community Educational Scholarship. This annual, $1275 scholarship is for any UNO IS & T Student, Junior and above that has maintained at least a 3.0 GPA. We have fully funded the scholarship for five years. We would like to fully endow this scholarship and open it up to all of the University of Nebraska campuses. We will be working with our current and future sponsors to help us realize our goal. We believe that we are the only SharePoint Saturday organization in the world that has fully funded a college scholarship.
For more information on how to apply for this scholarship, please contact the College of Information Science & Technology at the University of Nebraska – Omaha.
